Renseignements spécifiques

Les examens et les interros (Exams and quizzes)

Each of the regular examens will be gauged for 60 minutes in length with written, listening, and reading activities. The interros are shorter quizzes, generally involving written and listening exercises: they should require no more than 10-15 minutes each.

The two-hour examen final will be cumulative in nature, reflecting the vocabulary, grammatical structures, reading and writing skills that have been the object of study during the semester.

Please note that the final exam is required of all students enrolled in this course. There are no exemptions from the final exam. The final exam schedule is established by Hunter College and it may not be adjusted or changed under and circumstances.

Les devoirs (Homework assignments)

Outside of class, students are expected to complete daily homework assignments, review material covered in class, and prepare for the next day’s class, which will include reading ahead in the textbook, daily study and oral practice.  Homework assignments of various kinds are an important component of this course. Any written homework assignments will be assigned a grade, varying according to the relative nature and scope of the assignment.

Another important element in your study of French will be arriving at a deeper understanding and appreciation of francophone culture in its immense diversity. Your textbook contains an array of readings about French-speaking peoples and places around the world. The material presented here will be augmented by information provided in class.
